2008 Providence Journal photo contest winners
This year's Providence Journal Photo Contest changed with the technology of the times. Instead of having readers submit traditional prints, we asked for digital pictures by e-mail. More than 500 images were submitted. Our two categories were the People and the Scenes of New England.
Pictures could be black and white or color. This year's judges included Phil Kukielski, managing editor for features; Michael Delaney, managing editor for visuals; picture editor Dave Weyermann; Travel and Books editor Doug Riggs; and Journal staff photographer Sandor Bodo.
