About NIE

The Providence Journal's Newspaper In Education program is designed to help teachers integrate The Providence Journal into their classroom lessons. The Providence Journal is a valuable educational tool that teaches students about current events, their community and issues that affect their lives. It can also be used to teach math, history, reading, writing, critical thinking, grammar, geography, economics and much more! A variety of different NIE programs are offered throughout the school year.

The NIE
Educators' Curriculum Package

Subscription is offered at no charge to local teachers. Subscribers receive all of our educational supplements for the 2007-8 school year and need only register once. They also receive regular email updates on NIE programs, lesson plan tips, themed classroom activities that use newspaper, current events links, and more.
